i got a powertec sl1 induction kit and it conveniently came with no instructions on how to fit it, i can kinda guess where it's gotta go looking at the fitment of a k&n filter, altho you get a red tube with the powertec that's thrown me off a bit, im thinking it replaces the similar shaped tube in the engine bay, just wanted clarifying,

i have a mk2 2001 punto sporting,
cheers

Hi mate,
Whatever you do, DONT fit it how they tell you to on the K&N site!
This has to be the worst place to put an induction kit! right over the red hot manifold!

I think it should go something like this instead....

ta for the help :)
plus it came with a crankcase breather so it'd suggest i get rid of the factory tube attached to the airbox

just realised thats a mk1 but it looks like how the induction kit'll look

run into another problem, looks similar to the mounting thingy that you bolt to the original airbox hole that a k&n uses, but i dont wanna put the filter there, was wondering if anyone knows their way around an engine bay enough to guess where else it could go, because if i take the factory air tube away and use the one that came with the kit it won't reach, i'd go out and have a look but weather's pissy... or should i just not use it

I'm thinking that's a bit like the silicone pipe on a GSR kit...so the filter should fit on one end and a bob on the other.

that's what i thought when i first saw it, then opened the engine bay and realised it was bigger than i thought, plus the filter sticks out a fair bit plus it is made for the mk2 punto, it steers clear of the engine and manifold unlike the k&n, i'll fit it and post up a pic if that's fair?;)
