my clutch stopped working recently so I ripped it out today. This is what I found.

In the second pic you can see the inside of the plate has all been scored and ****ed where the friction plate has been rubbing against it.

Whats gone wrong? I've only done 1500 miles. Could it be a faulty clutch? Or did we fit it wrong?.

Don't think its incorrect fitting. The only thing you can really incorrectly fit is the friction plate in the middle?.

One side sticks out more than the other. The side that sticks out more was fitted facing away from the flywheel witch I think is right?.

well theres hardly any wear on the friction material so maybe fitted the wrong way round.,
did you notice it wasnt right from the time you fitted the last clutch?

It felt alright at first. Then after a few hundred miles it started to rattle. then one night it stopped working and i took it out and found that.

yep that was in the wrong way round

it should say cambio lato or something like that meaning (gearbox end) on one side of it if it is valeo

don't worry thou easy mistake many people have done it

also I don't see allot of coper slip on your release bearing there what did you use to lubricate it against the release fork
