The FIAT France configurator has some interesting new colourways for the Cross, which might suggest they'll be available elsewhere too. Aside from the various contrasting colours of old they're listing Funk White (pearlescent maybe?), White and Black.

What's interesting about those three colours is that the plastics appear to match the paint, meaning at last you could have a Panda Monster (well close anyway).

Still looks as ugly as ever! In my humble opinion the standard 4x4 is much neater, all those plastic adornments and light mountings do nothing for the car except add weight and cost.

The thing I like about the 100hp is that they seem to have made an effort to bring out a tidy body kit and nice wheels but this is just so 80's tonka truck....

The problem for us in the UK is that if we want a Panda 4x4 that is easy to drive as it has some power, the Cross is the only option as it is our only diesel powered option.
Why can't we have a base model 4x4 with diesel power, as the rest of Europe can?

errrr... cos no-one in their right mind would buy the Cross, perhaps?;)
Read the previous post again... DrChris is saying the normal 4x4 would sell well if Fiat put the diesel in it for the UK market like they do for the rest of Europe. But because they don't, the only way you can have diesel and 4x4 here is to buy a Cross (which are all diesel).

Because you seem to have misread the post, you then get Most Easterly's reply.

What do you mean by that?

I think the inherent problem with the cross is the high price. I'm not sure if there are any other vehicles available for that money that can do the same job but the cross is a bit bloody expensive for a panda.

But yes, I can see why a diesel engine with it's decent amount of torque could work well in a 4WD setup.

Agreed, but come 15 years time I can see it being Panda 4x4 vs Cross for price and exclusivity just like with the Classc Panda 4x4's vs Classic Panda Sisley 4x4 :)

It looks like the b*st*rd son of a SMART Forfour and a Playmobil car! Now perhaps that's why they call it a Cross although mongrel might have been more appropriate ;)

Joking aside, here it cost's 2000 euros more RRP than a 4x4 multijet and the only advantages I see are the ELD and air conditioning being standard.

The Monster version may well become a classic as I think they only made 500 or so but even then I think most ppl buy a car thinking of what it will do for them in the next 3-5 years rather than in 20 years time.

The real classic New Panda will be the red 100HP with optional side rubbing strips :p

Can you not get the ELD as an option on the normal 4x4? In France it's a factory fit option, I thought it was all across mainland Europe.

Don't forget that when you configure a 100hp the plastic appears as painted as body colour which it isn't in reality.

I thought the new Panda 100HP's bodykit was body coloured? I hope so because I am planning on buying one and I prefer it if it is body coloured.

We now have the same colour options in the UK, but the UK configurator shows the white versions with black bumpers which imo looks much better than body coloured.

Shame that orange has been deleted though:(
Best colour, I've yet to see one on the road.
