General Pandas at a bus rally.

Bump!

Will be checking up on this during the next couple of days and posting any relevant info, hope some of you can make this one so that we can make an even bigger Panda presence than last year. (y)

I think we're all waiting for the event info to be posted ;)

Are you doing anything on the Sat still, or just the bus rally on the Sunday? (y)

We are booked in for the weekend Vern so just need to know details of the event now ;)

Gav have your persuaded your mum that's it's the ideal birthday trip out yet! :)

Pretty much!! ;). Just need the exciting details now......

She likes car stuff if there's more than just cars in a field. She enjoyed Santa Pod yesterday & is going to Castle Combe next week. The thought of a bus rally reminded her of the Southend one (which was REALLY bad) though, so still got a bit of work to do! (y)

My dad used be Assistant Company Secretary for Eastern Coachworks in Lowestoft. He left to go into teaching and we moved away from the area but I always used to like seeing the Eastern Coachworks sign on the buses I travelled on as a kid. Let me know if you spot one, there should be some, they were a major bus maker.
Apparently many of the employees used to have front doors that were either red or green. I wish I'd been able to see the chassis being delivered to the factory, the drivers used to drive the bare chassis from the manufacturers to the coach builders with just a sheet of plywood on the front as weather protection.

Will most likely be the Sisley, as that is abit more suited to motorway work than the Mk1!

If I have mine there too, and I almost certainly will, we can put them at either end of the line-up like book ends.

I should hear back from the organizers tomorrow about registration then I can do a proper events thread, but for now here is a link to the website.....

For accommodation there is The Swan Hotel in town, they often have special offers on and are well priced even when they don't. I'll list a few more on the events thread, and may be able to put up a couple of you ourselves if I ask Barbara nicely (Bob and Freddy, you asked first ;)).

As far as Saturday goes I'm more than happy to organise a drive out somewhere, it was supposed to be offroadish but my local green laner expert tells me that so many of the routes have been closed that it's not worth going out any more. :(
There is a dedicated site for offroading fun (pay and play) that I could look into if there is enough interest but I don't think it's particularly softroad.
