Hi

Does anyone have any experience on upgrading Panda's front seats?

i.e. do Cinq/Punto sports fit? If not is there much modification?

I've seen some threads on Makro specials but wanted something else I guess...

Cheers

Hi, I have Diahatsu Sportrak seats in my 750L, and have another set to fit in another one soon.......

This is the only picture I have till I get it back from my Daughter I'm afraid. They are very straightforward to fit, incuding the rears, although you do lose a bit of rear headroom, fine if you've got kids or a sunroof. ;)

I'm also in the process of fitting some Punto sporting seats ready for Brooklands on the 1st May so will post info on how to do it soon. There is a thread on this so look out for that one. As a taster here are some Seicento sporting seats, which are the same design, they're just placed in for the photo........

I have got these aftermarket recliners in my Y10

Bolted straight to the floor with universal runners. The cross members do limit mounting points unfortunately.

Big improvement over standard.

Cheers

They all look GREAT! Wow what an upgrade. It has given me the incentive to get a set of Cinq seats! I'll keep an eye out and when i get some and have a go at fitting - again i'll post a few pics.

Meantime if anyone does the same please post a pic or three! :)

Actually - there is a set of black Cinq seats (Racing) on ebay for £214 - a lot of money! I'm not sure if I take the hit...

Could I convert these to fit Panda seat rail spacing? I don't mind the effort but at that much if they def will not fit!!!

Ignore this... I found the tread mentioned earlier - all explained! Again thanks :slayer:

I wouldn't take any notice of the fact that these are advetised to fit a specific Fiat, they will have adverts on ebay saying these seats will fit Corsas, Fiestas, Clio's, etc, etc, etc. Ebay shops often list the same item loads of times saying it will fit a particular make so that when someone searches and includes thier make of car the advert will come up.

These are universal seats, you would have to buy subframes separately in order to fit them, the subframes are sometimes model specific, but often they are universal too, budget £30/£50 each for them.

'Panda Pete plans to fit a Corbeau seat to his Panda soon and he is going to mount it on a modified Panda seat frame he has just picked up from me. You might like to wait and see how he gets on, if it works it would be a good way of fitting the seats you're looking at.

As Dave says, these seats don't have a tilt facility so rear seat access would be for gymnasts only. ;)

I don't want to put you off as they are nice seats, just want to ensure you are going in with your eyes wide open. (y)

Give me until the end of this weekend and I will tell you how I go! So far I have removed the backrest from a standard seat and I have mounted the frame on the seat rails to get a sense of heights once the new seat is bolted on. Im still pondering how to mount the seat onto the frame though. Do I do it using the sub frame I already have on the seat? Do I fabricate some L brackets? Hmmm. I'll do a report either way though so you can see how its done (he says...).

Vern- fitted the headlight last night. Although I did have to swap the bulb as yours didn't work! (y)

I just had a thought,
Marbella's gear lever is quite tall and you have to push it quite a distance in a particular direction to engage gear, is this not the case with mk2 pandas? I notice the stick is shorter and since it seems further back on mk2 pandas than mk1, and embedded inbetween the seats that therefore there is not so much of a 'swing' in the direction. I often find the passengers leg getting in the way of me changing gear:rolleyes:

Yeah, I seem to remember I sold the good bulb a while ago for a Cadburys cream egg.
No refunds I'm afraid, the chocolates are gone. ;)

Fitting the seats has now reached revision B.... Rev A (mounting onto the original seat base itself) left the seat far too high. Meaning that getting your legs under the steering wheel would be good as impossible and folding the seat would probably hit the roof!! Rev B has combated this by just using the seat runnersand the Land Rover (?) sub frame that came with the seat. Just having a sandwich and deciding the next way to go! Will update again soon.
