i know this is going over old ground but i can't find a pic of the location of the egr on any old threads. the threads say its at the back right of the engine when looking from the front but i'm obviously having a bad day because i cant seem to find anything back there that looks right.

Took a couple of pics of my engine bay so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great

should've gone to specsavers i expect.

EGR1.jpg

It's the unit under that bracket in the top picture.
On the lower picture you can see the concertina pipe that joins the exhaust to the valve.
It looks like yours has an insulating sleeve over it, it's just visible on the right, just inside the red line.

Edit; I think you'll find that's the diaphragm housing for the Turbo wastegate actuator.

thanks
thought i might be missing something.
nicely hidden i must say

Kev you are correct in thinking your yellow circled item is the EGR as you have the early JTD were it was placed atop the exhaust manifold.
---------------
BikeDoc probably assumed it was the later engine.
That I did Peat
I've only had my top cover off briefly, so I'm not too familiar with the look of the engine....yet!
Sorry for any confusion caused kev78.
Nice of Fiat to make it harder to get to, that's progress for you

sounds like every single nut and bolt i have touched on the multi so far then.
latest issue is the tracking can't be adjusted until the track rod ends are freed off and the locking nuts - both sides seized solid
oh and then there was the bolts that needed replacing when i did the front wishbones because all but 1 shed some thread on previous journey and had been wound back in anyway
never used so much wd40 and blow torch action.
fiat seem to use very fine pitch threads everywhere
