Punto (Mk2/2b) Smokey's Broom Yellow 1.2 16v Active Sport

Introduction

So here it is, when I got it it went into the garage then the weather has been bad all week and I wanted to clean it before taking pics but couldn't wait.

All I have done to it so far is put my headunt and install in.
The mats were there when I got it.

The only issues with it at the minute are it has the wrong bumper on, it had a front end bump, hence the GENUINE low 15k miles, and the bloke who fixed it up couldn't source an active sport one. Neither can I so if anbody knows where I can get one with all the black trim and the fog lights, any colour, I would be grateful (y)

Also it needs a new drivers side headlamp as this one is foggy and the spoiler needs spraying as its a lighter shade.

Other than that its an excellent car, a great upgrade from my old 1.2 8v and a steal at under £2300. (also costs exactly the same to insure)

So here she is I have called her LILLY.

Down the bottom end of Brum? Not hard to stick to the limit there really lol.
Yeah, between J4 and 4A, just before you get off onto the M42. We were hardly gunning it just cruising along with the flow of traffic.......

BTW here is a pic of my car (notice the front bumper)

And a pic of my car next to another mk2b, shows the colour difference between mine and the Imola:

yup, holiday is all saved up for now except for about £100, so I should have some change out of next months pay packet (after paying for my £60 fine :bang:) so I shall see what the Bay has to offer.

Also not sure weather to get tints or official fiat window blinds.

Yeah, might be getting the alloys refurbed (see my post in poll section) but deffinatley not changing them. 15's give the best balance between speed, handling, comfort and looks.

As for the blinds I got the bloke next door dropping my off a fiat parts catalogue soon so I shall see.

Yeah they pop up now and again on eBay. However they aren't that expensive when you consider tints will be a minimum £100, the blinds are only about £65 so it still works out cheaper.

£65!!!!! I only paid £10, and they are proper brand new fiat ones with the bag etc, just be sure to double check ebay. btw i didnt win bidding either they were buy it now.

Took my wheels off to give them a good clean, get all the brake dust off the insides etc.....

Here is a before and after picture:

BTW thats not kerbing on the alloy, its some tyre black the bloke who sold me the car put on to hide the fact the tyres were cracked (didn't work) but I can't get it off, any suggestions? Not too serious as as soon as I have the money I am having them painted black (I think)

Also while they were off I got busy with the Hamerite. (and notice the bumper still not sorted :bang:)

did you brush them or spray them cos im goona do mine at the weekend i think but im undecided which method to do?
Undo to two nuts at the rear of the caliper, take it off the disk, take the brake pads out, mask off (I used carrier bags to cover the disks to stop over spray) anywhere you don't want paint on.

However leave the brake lines connected too much hastle to take them ll off and have to bleed them.

Then I just sprayed them, 3 coats with 30mins between each and then used an artist paint brush (little thin thing), sprayed some paint in the lid and touched up the bits that needed doing.

The whole process took about 4 hours, it would only take half as long if you can get both wheels off the ground at the same time, then you can spray one side while the other is drying. I had no axle stands though so had to use the trolley jack and do them one at a time.
