My new pimped van.

Introduction

Well there's only pics of the outside, not got any pics of inside yet; it was too dark to get good ones when i got it back but has deep pile carpets, custom lighting, 5 leather seats, big flat screen TV, Sony Xplode subs (x4), PS2 etc. Has had extra windows fitted behind the sliding doors (has sliding doors on both sides)

Its a vito travelliner 112 cdi (2003), 5 speed manual. Has full stainless exhaust with decat, told it has performance panel filter but not checked - apparently its about 135bhp but got nought to back that - tbh don't know what a standard 112cdi puts out but it pulls well and is similar sorta speed to the stilo (1.9jtd 115) which is plenty fast for a van in my opinion. Wheels are genuine AMG 18" (believe from the new E-class but not sure).

well here's the pics.

Opinions, comments and questions welcome.
ah i took some pictures of my van but dunno where they went - swear it has banjo bolts too but my memory is rubbish lol. Will try fitting them with some braided hoses and see how it is and go from there, My uncle has a ML430 with brabus bits but brakes are the same so got something to compare it to. Found discs for 70squids+p&p now so see what the local motorfactors say and get them ordered soon. Just been comparing dimensions and looks like it'll all be fine, well shouldn't stick out any further than the normal brakes which is good. The wheels are just about far enough under the arches to be legal at the front but there is no spacers on there.

Right i'm gonna post here because the merc forums are crap - no-one knows anything, they just hand over money to a garage and say do this. Most of them don't even seem to know what is actually on their own vehicle.
I'm looking to order some lowered suspension for the van today, needs new top mounts so if its coming off might as well lower the beast a bit at the same time. Now clearly none of you will have looked for suspension for a vito before but my dilema is this.
Not as many springs to choose from as i'm used to - most are 35mm or 40mm spring kits - PI make a 50mm kit but i think we all know PI springs are rubbish and have a habit of snapping so not really wanting to run 2.5 tonnes of van on them.
So come across Cobra ones and they do a 40mm all round and a 60front and 40rear which i think i want to go for. However, i'm not keen on running standard shocks with 60mm springs.. Opinions?? I can't find any shortened shocks - or at least i can't find any shocks that stipulate they're shortened - loadsa aftermarket shocks are available but can't seem to find out if any of them are shortened.
HELP ME!!! What should i do...? I mean, its clearly gonna kill the shocks pretty quickly but will it be ok other than that do you think?

I would of thought being a van the shocks will be rather tough as of all the weight it would be able to carry and still be effective, if it was me i wouldent worry about the shocks due to the sheer weight they can handle from there design and nature kinda thing, btw i like your van not posted here before.. but ive been watching (y)

I heard it rumour'd that koni red's for the vito are shortened but i am unable to confirm it. In any case i can't afford them right now so would have to leave it a bit anyway - they quite expensive.

I just can't bring myself to spend £1750 on coilovers before anyone suggests that lol

Been finding the exact same thing myself. How Benzworld think they can charge for that site is unbelievable and Vitoforums is deader than the satnav section. :p

Do the Cobra springs affect the payload capacity?

Again, can't find out but my van is never gonna be that laiden with stuff so i'm not worried about it. Its is not a work horse at all... Was originally intended for work but i decided to send the stilo mw to work instead when i bought it lol. The mercedes seats out of the back weight alot more than the sub box and bed anyway.
