As the title suggests, the GP has blown it's speakers. Here is can image of what one of them looks like

They are a mess, any recommendation on what I need to buy that'll fit the requirements of the GP? I don't have that blue and me, it's the standard 2007 GP Active stereo system as far as I am aware.

It's both rear speakers from what I can tell but there is also crackling coming from one of the front door speakers, I haven't had the time yet to check if that's blown.

Should I just take it Halfords and let them do it, or is it simple enough to do it on the driveway?

They're not exactly blown, the suspension is broken ! As a result the inner coil is not centered anymore and might "scratch" against the magnet wall, what makes the hawfull sound/noise you probably hear …

Easyest is to buy replacement from dealer, you'd get the same connector: drill the rivets, unplugg, replace, re-rivet, done !

Or buy a same size from third party (check for ohms !!), drill the rivets, cut the plug, crimp lugs on cables or solder to the speaker, re-rivet (new holes ?), done !

Be Imaginative and use liquid rubber to rebuild the broken suspension, or alternatively hot glue (gun) FILAMENTS should work as well if you're not too hurry …

Done the liquid rubber method on my rear sub : worked perfect since 3 or 4 years now !

Interesting hot glue gun, I have nothing to loose so will give it a go. Anything I need to know other than just fill the gap?

Yes, try to fill the gap with filaments only, not a thick glue layer that would make the suspension too rigid. It should look like a mesh, see what I mean ?
Results not guaranteed tho ;-)

I tried it, but it still rattles away. I'm going to replace it, and the other speakers in the car when I can afford it.

Now speaker choices and questions;

Does the head unit output 50W RMS per speaker, or per pair?
I know the rear speakers need to be 4" (10CM) with a bracket, but what are the front speakers?
Is the wiring adapter for the speakers CT55-FT01 or CT55-FT02?

:)

Thanks, found some original speakers at a scrap yard for £3 each. Work perfectly.
