looks pretty cool

This is not a substitute dor the Doblo, which will be replaced in '09, it is a smaller vehicle altogether. But it will do the same job for most people.

No, as far as I know there are no photos yet. The replacement is on Fiat's to-do list.

I guess that if you find pictures of the replacement Berlingo (just Google up 2009 Berlingo and search), which were touted around a few months ago, you'd be nearly there. Some sites show a disguised Fiorino generic ( the Renault version if I remember) which is not the replacement Doblo at all - the press were inaccurate there.

The end link gives a list of Fiat group models over the next couple of years - but I believe it isn't exhaustive, and although the Doblo is mentioned nobody has details yet. In 2010 it will be ten years old though, and will certainly be replaced by then.

The biggest news is the still to be announced twin cylinder engine and the Multiair valve operation technology; this latter will be applied to all Fiat group products over the next three years and should give them a real lead in emissions and fuel consumption.

thanks for the info.
I found a pic of the new Berlingo and, as you say, it seems to be the same as the new Fiorino. A Peugeot/Citroen/Fiat collaboration like the Ulysses.

That new Fiat engine sounds very interesting.
Looks like we'll just have to 'watch this space' for the new Doblo.

I think that's the Citroen/Peugeot version of the Fiorino - this is tjhe new Berlingo - as far as I know.... However, it is possible that the Berlingo name will be applied to the smaller car and a new name applkied to the 'Berlingo' sized one.

The only thing I believe to be certain is that the replacement Doblo will not be unique to Fiat, but a shared vehicle, still made by Tofas in Bursa though.

just seen your link for the new Berlingo. That's completely different to the new Fiorino. Didn't realize there were 2 new models coming. Looks a bit like the old one but more streamlined.

(just getting pizza boxes on this thread).
Googled the nemo concetto & hate the paint job.
For my money, the dobbin is almost perfect. If Fiat wanted my opinion for improvements, I'd tell them to improve the storage by utilising wasted space under seats or behind plastic panels.
The shelf above the driver could use doors & it wouldn't hurt to utilise the additional headroom down the sides.
They also need to include roof rails as standard & maybe a sunroof would be a nice touch?
I'd like to see them rework the fascia as well. Get rid of the afterthought that they call a radio pod & make the dash one long piece - perhaps include some trays (removable) where you can chuck your mobile or stand a cup of coffee, giving the radio a spacious housing and space to put switches.
I'd also like to see the gearstick moved from the sticky-outy pod (that constantly digs into the side of my leg) and just run straight into the dash, perhaps even running the handbrake lever through the dash as well.

Thanks Rich. Not quite Jeremy Clarkson is he?

Very interesting and stylish motor, but just too small. Its so small the sliding rear doors appear to have to stop half-way as if they didn't, they'd go past the back!

Based on this though, the next Doblo will likely be quite a step-forward style-wise. Maybe I'll get a make-over too?

I'm thinking that the film is compressed and that in reality there'll be a bit more width.
Anyway, this will compete with the new Suzuki Wagon R and the Vauxhall Agila, and may be cheaper too.
The replacement Doblo is rumoured to be bigger, which will be a shame if true.
You've seen the new Berlingo; think of this with a nose job.
