A bit of a shed but there's potential. Clean the crap off, fix any issues and give the car a fresh M.O.T just in time for Summer and hopefully a small profit. According to "How many left" there are a hundred and twenty eight on the road and thirty four declared SORN so the future classics market is well within my cross hairs. If not sell it to a student who will ruin it all over again. With second hand roofs selling for £100 and the wheels are worth £50 I can't lose, can I?

The plan was to collect the car today but the rescue will have to wait until I can get a recovery dolly to pick the car up. My mate with a van (Kev and the van of death) said it wouldn't be a problem but the chap who owns the towing frame has lent it out to someone and forgotten who. :silly:

the car needs a new radiator and fan switch I have both of these ready to fit and get the car home but I'm a one man army and can't drive two cars home.

Kev's off to work for six so there isn't enough time and I'm back at work tomorrow. Tuesday's transition day (Monday day shift, Tuesday night shift) so I'll see if I can collect the car in the morning and have a nap in the afternoon (or do my usual twenty six hour transition day).

Rare enough to be interesting, not rare enough (yet) to be desirable and/or valuable.

I'm thinking restoration but could do with a few more tasteful/useful tweaks here and there.

Cinq's are the same as Panda's, photogenic so's you want to love and resto them instead of sensible gutting and then scrapping them

Look forward to reading of your exploits with it - let's hope this one has a happier ending than others ;)

read about this cinq before, got potential indeed!but if you want bigger engine then deffo cage up,got half a roof gone, need something there!

look forward to reading up on this cars little adventure

Got to agree with fingers, took the cage out of my webasto roofed Abarth Sei -
How much extra flex did I find.... Zero.
A cage MIGHT improve overall stiffness to an unnoticeable degree, but they're more about safety in a crash.

Do prefer the look of the Cinq, & that roof really suits the car (y)

A roll cage only adds stiffness to the chassis if it's mounted to the body and chassis. Without pillar braces and such the roll cage is only effective when you roll over. ;)

Well plan "F" was to pick the car up tomorrow. That's not going to happen either now as the tow vehicle is not available. Grrrrr! Friday?
