Was looking under the car today and saw this cable hanging down and is sheared at the other end.

Its the brake pad wear sensor a single wire. Ill get a page from the manual 1sec
The loom side of the wire should run up the brake pipe as seen here. The other end goes into the brake pad material, when your pads wear down and the contact touches the brake disk it creats a circuit and light a warning light on your dash.
