Hi
My barchetta has an electric aerial, which doesn't work (I've only had it for a month). Does anyone know where the best place is for a replacement if needed or how to test if it's the aerial or anything else?

Thanks

Mine has packed up too, the last time I went to a Fiat garage they wanted approximately £70. While it would be nice to get radio reception, I tend to listen to CDs [Note, I don't think I've ever used the cassette drive!]

It may be a fault, but might be rusted up on the inside?

I would get someone who know what they're doing - maybe audio specialist to take a look. The connection can come loose - mine did and just needed a twiddle. Pull back the trim in the boot and take a look. I am sure it shouldn't be £70 to refit anyway.

How does it not work? Does it extend normally? If it doesn't, disconnect your cd-player to see if the remote wire is connected (usually a blue wire with white stipes), in case the player wires are soldered. If the player is connected with ISO-connector, it's most likely connected.
Then check that antenna is connected to power via the power plug. The plug is highly unlikely to come loose by itself though, but worth the check.
Mine was also broken, and when I opened it I found that the plastic tooth strip that moves the antenna was in four pieces and unrepairable. Those tend to loose elasticy through time, so once you have checked all mentioned, just open the antenna and see what's inside.

If it does extend, then the problem is most likely the aerial connection either in the antenna, or the player. Check both connections, re-solder if necessary.

I replaced mine with a small solid antenna about 30cm long, cost about 8€, works fine and doesn't look that bad.
